Japanese Recipe of the Week: Tamago Dofu
Tamago dofu is a kind of Japanese egg custard. It's firmer than chawanmushi which is usually steamed in a cup. As its name says, tamago dofu has silky texture like tofu. Chilled tamago dofu is a great summertime dish.

Daikon Radish Salad
As I have a habit of eating grated daikon (daikon oroshi) for breakfast, I always have some daikon in my refrigerator. Daikon is often simmered in Japanese cooking, and it becomes sweeter when cooked. But a little bit bitter and hot raw daikon makes a good salad ingredient. This recipe uses wakame seaweeds, but you can use other kinds of seaweeds or leaf vegetables in the salad.
