The Playbook

Training Day: Rail... kitchen & bar
303 E Howard Ave; Decatur; 404.377.3550
No longer functioning as Farmstead 303, the funky former train depot-turned restaurant kept its Elvis bust and the rest of the interior decor, but added versatility with new drinks and food that doesn't lean all-fried. Debuting meals include apps like grilled calamari w/ chorizo, Painted Hills beef burgers like the bacon/ pimento cheese-topped Rail, and small plates such as meatloaf sliders w/ homemade ketchup & chips; they've also added cocktails like the ginger-'n-mint Manhattan 101, and classics like the absinthe/ bitters/ Champagne "Death In The Afternoon" -- drink too many and you'll surely have a bad mourning.

Camp Like A Player: North Georgia Canopy Tours, Reloaded
5290 Harris Rd; Lula; 770.869.7272
Hit the Lula outdoor adventure site this weekend for the grand opening of new additions like GPS-assisted "geocaching" (basically high-tech hide & seek), a smaller-grouped zipline tour that includes a personal videographer, and "glamping" in luxury teepees complete with bathrooms, a/c, wood stoves, and upscale bedding/ flooring/ lighting. There's also a just-completed 18-hole disc golf course winding through pastures and forest, which counts as its signature hole a chicken coop, also what they called Mark Curry in the episode where Holly Robinson Peete totally pwned him. So, every episode.

Truck The World: Street Food Thursdays
Thursday, 11a; On the corner of 10th and Peachtree St; Midtown
Starting tomorrow, nine of ATL's most beloved food trucks'll serve lunch together, including Yumbii, Souper Jenny, and King of Pops, with a different "pop-up chef" featured every week. This time it's Jonathan St. Hilaire who'll run the BAKESHOP Big Dog Food Cart, serving their buns wrapped around gourmet franks from The Spotted Trotter, aka Wilt The Stilt's other nickname whenever his Harlem teammates noticed the rash was back.
See the complete list of trucks that'll be there at MidtownATL.com. You can click here for that, FYI.
