Matzah Making Workshops beginning tomorrow (Sunday)
Tomorrow (Sunday) will mark the beginning of our matzoh-making season. (Don't worry,
we'll also be baking our full line of breads!)
This season we'll be using whole wheat flour freshly milled by Mark Fischer and
family at the Delaware Valley's new Castle Valley Mill.
The process is simple enough: add some well water and a bit of salt, roll them
out by hand and bake them on the hot hearth bricks of our oven.
With the intense heat stored in the hearth, they crisp up and get golden in seconds,
little round matzot, which come out looking like they were baked on a flat rock
in the Sinai.
Our matzoh making workshops are a great opportunity to get right down to the nitty-gritty
of this ancient practice. This is very much a hands-on event, and even small children
are welcome. This is an ideal event for grandparents and grandchildren to do together.
We charge $10 per person, and you get to keep the matzoh that you make, which is
guaranteed to be 100% rabbinical-certification free!
This class is recommended for children over 2, and each child under 7 must have
an adult to supervise them.
These workshops have sold out quickly in past years, so don't delay, or you may
be left wandering in the desert.

Visiting Bobolink This Weekend
It's calving season: we've had 21 births so far, and there's many more to come!
The little cuties are now frolicking on the newly-green pasture with their moms,
chomping down the wild garlic and clover.
Our farm store in Milford is in full swing, and will be open every Friday 12-5 and
Saturday and Sunday 9-5, with a tour on Saturday at 11 AM.
At the farm you can sample and buy our cheeses, breads, meats, and some other fine
farm products from the region, including eggs, cured duck from Hudson Valley Foie
Gras, the very best honey from our neighbors Bea & Jean-Claude, and other goodies.

Sunday May 15th: Save the date!
At some point in the next few weeks, we'll be announcing the details, but this much
is certain: we're having our not-quite-annual Bobolink Beltane Festival on Sunday
afternoon, May 15th.
Beltane is the Celtic spring fertility festival, traditionally celebrated on May
first, or Mayday. It's a celebration of the return of spring, and most importantly
to any pastoral people, the return of estrus to the herd.
We'll celebrate with food, music, ales from the Ship Inn, and possibly some dancing.
Because of schedule conflicts (The D'artagnan Duckathlon is on May 1st this year),
we're having our Beltane on the Ides of May: think of it as Eastern Orthodox Beltane!
