Thank you for weighing in on thequestion of balancing freedom with informed parenting. From what I'm reading in the comments, lots (most!) people struggle with that balance and are concerned about their own overprotectiveness. Many said "I like the idea of giving my kids more freedom, but it's hard/scary to put into practice."
