Hello Witches and Wizards!
I hope you have all made your trips to Flourish & Botts, packed your trunks, and have your owls under your arms. It's time to get back to Hogwarts! Here at the HPA we're looking back over all we were able to do this past school year and, well -- Merlin's beard! Your time, dedication, energy, and passion made the Deathly Hallows Campaign the immense success that it was. Can you believe how much we've accomplished? In the past nine months we: - amassed 15,000 signatures on our petition to make all Harry Potter chocolate fair trade,
- began discussion with Warner Bros. to make fair trade chocolate a reality,
- created our own patronuses and battled the Body Bind,
- broke nearly all of Massachusetts Equality's call records during Wrock 4 Equalty 2 with 6,200 phone calls,
- collected more than 32,000 books for communities worldwide,
- founded the Imagine Better Library at the Bedford-Stuyvesant New Beginnings Charter School in NYC,
- brainstormed more than 100 innovative ideas for fighting the Climate Crisis,
- and so much more.
Throughout it all we've had a great time making new friends, learning about new topics, raising our voices at movie releases and conferences, and competing in the longest house-battle on record! Congratulations to Gryffindor for winning the DHC House Cup and to everyone for dedicating so much time to your houses. The DHC was truly amazing. But don’t forget, we’re not done yet. The DHC may be over, but Hogwarts and all of the wizarding world await. There is still so much we can do to bring magic to the real world and battle the Death Eaters and Dark Arts of our times. The HPA opens at the close. -Do you?
