Note From Pat Carrington
It's not surprising that relaxation during action is attracting so much interest today because so many of us are in full never ceasing motion all day long. The story back of this... When Random House Publishers decided to produce an audio on relaxation as part of a self-improvement audio series they were launching -- they contacted me. When they did, I told them the truth. I didn't think anyone would want to buy a relaxation recording anymore because almost all progressive relaxation audios on the market had a serious flaw. These otherwise useful products taught people how to relax when lying down, often with their eyes closed, in a quiet place. That's a great thing to do and I highly recommend it, but how many times during your day can you lie down in a quiet place with your eyes closed? It's good when you are learning to relax - as a first step -- but not for everyday of relaxation.
What people needed, I told the company, was instruction on how to relax while in full action. They need to learn how to relax first, then learn how to remain fully relaxed while running, swimming, typing on a keyboard, answering the phone, or whatever else they have to do during the day. This would lead to improved performance in whatever activity they were engaged in and it would certainly make them healthier. After all, this is the way a superb athlete performs when they relax extraneous muscle groups and engage only the muscles absolutely needed for the task -- watch them and you will see. It's also the way animals move in their natural habitat.
The result was that Random House engaged me to write and narrate an audio that teaches relaxation in action. I did, and they made a very finished professional production complete with actors to depict stressful situations. We all thought this would be a useful addition to their line of self-improvement audios, but we didn't expect the extent its great success. Because people really do need to relax during action, my now well-known How to Relax audio became the best selling audio in the entire Random House series and when it was sold in bookstores throughout the world it broke records.
And since Random House has discontinued its audio publishing, all publishing rights to this audio have returned to me. and... I have reproduced the CD to make it presently available for all of you.
This popular CD is sold on my website, www.PatsTreasureIsland.com, for $19.95 plus shipping, approximately the price that the bookstores were asking for the Random House edition. But... Because relaxation even during hectic action is becoming a necessity in this fast paced world, I have decided to make this CD available to you, over the next week only, at a greatly reduced price -- For the next 7 days (that's one week) you can buy my How to Relax CD for just $14.95 with FREE SHIPPING if you live in the United States. Those who live overseas will pay an extra $4.00 for shipping but will still receive this price reduction.
