At Wharton, experiential learning opportunities take MBAs ice climbing in the Adirondacks, on treks to Mount Everest, and to the summit of Cotopaxi, at 19,347-foot peak in Ecuador. As I type, 15 women from the Rotterdam School of Management are making their way to the summit of Kilimanjaro. And in late November a group of MBAs from Haas and Tuck will set off on a 600 mile journey to the South Pole. This week, Geoff Gloeckler chronicles the preparations for the South Pole trip, from the serendipitous meeting that led to the team's formation to the training mission to the Arctic Circle. It's a great tale well told and I urge you to read it. I also urge you to check back periodically after the trek begins. The team will be filing dispatches about their experiences as they make their way to the Pole. Something tells me there will be no shortage of people following their progress, and cheering them on.
