The Must-Get Wedding Shots that You Must Get
Good planning is the key to great shots at any wedding. If you're shooting a simple bare-bones ceremony, you may be capable of planning out the entire day in your head. When I got married, the videographer took this approach, repeating the shot list like a mantra as he worked. However, my wedding took place in a Lake Tahoe casino, lasted half an hour, and only included eight guests from our immediate families. If you're dealing with a more elaborate wedding, you won't want to take quite the same risk. As a rule of thumb, if the wedding lasts over an hour or involves more than a dozen guests, you will want to make sure that you have your itinerary written down on paper. Relying on your memory is a sure recipe for disaster!
If you're a professional videographer working a job, you'll want to have everything formalized in writing even for a wedding as quick and small as mine. Some videographers balk at that, arguing that it isn't worth hiring a lawyer to draft contracts for such small jobs. And they don't like taking time out of their busy schedule to create lists and logs when they'd rather be shooting.
The Videomaker Book of Forms has long been recognized as one of the best, most complete compilations of every legal, maintenance, and administrative form needed for smooth, professional videography. We've streamlined that package for the wedding videographer, creating Videomaker's Book of Essential Forms for Wedding Videographers. We know that planning a wedding shoot is a time-intensive affair, so this package strips away everything that you don't need; you won't have to hunt through the big book to find exactly the papers you need.
