US Youth Soccer joins Nickelodeon in Washington D.C. to support Worldwide Day of Play

FRISCO, TEXAS (September 20, 2011) - On Sept. 24, Nickelodeon will bring its 8th Annual Worldwide Day of Play http://idevmail.americaneagle.com/link.aspx?l=12&d=227&mid=698003&m=1401 (WWDOP) event to the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. for its biggest celebration of active play in the history of the initiative. A fitting partnership for US Youth Soccer http://idevmail.americaneagle.com/link.aspx?l=13&d=227&mid=698003&m=1401 the annual Youth Soccer Month http://idevmail.americaneagle.com/link.aspx?l=14&d=227&mid=698003&m=1401 each September, the network will host an entire day of activities and games for kids and families that will be offered by more than 50 WWDOP partner organizations. The partners include US Youth Soccer, Let's Move! , the President's Council in Fitness Sports and Nutrition, NFL Play 60, MLB, PGA, the National Park Foundation/National Park Service, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and more. At the event, US Youth Soccer will provide activities to help promote the benefits of playing soccer and messages of staying active and healthy. Visitors to the US Youth Soccer booth can test their skills against a giant kick wall and walk away with a soccer ball and other goodies.
The event will also feature appearances by a number of Nickelodeon's live-action and preschool stars, including Big Time Rush, the cast of iCarly; Victoria Justice and the cast of Victorious ; Keke Palmer, star of True Jackson, VP ; SpongeBob SquarePants; Dora the Explorer, the Fresh Beat Band and more.
