iPhone 5 Expected to Have Wide-Ranging Voice Control


The anticipated iPhone (News - Alert) 5 is reported to include a handy voice-controlled feature called the “Assistant,” according to media sources.

Assistant will “be able to do anything you ask,” the Business Insider reported.

“Assistant is described as the biggest game changer in this year’s iPhone,” according to a report from 9 to 5 Mac.


It features an “info” button with, with a click, shows common spoken commands and phrases, the report adds. In addition, a user can speak “make appointment for 7:30 PM” and the Assistant will place the appointment in a user’s calendar, 9 to 5 Mac said. Assistant also lets users create reminders for the iOS 5 Reminders application, 9 to 5 Mac said. Assistant can also create and send an SMS or iMessage with a voice command, according to 9 to 5 Mac.
