Before joining TMC in August of 2009, Bernier ran a successful freelance writing business. She also formerly was editor in chief of xchange magazine, a now-defunct title from Virgo Publishing, where she worked for more than 11 years. She got her start in telecom at Telephony magazine, where she spent nearly five years, leaving as the news director.
