$50,000 Matching Gift Opportunity

Make a tax-deductible donation to help us jumpstart our work in 2012!

December 21, 2011

Dear Indiana,

"I support Food & Water Watch simply because I have a family and want them to be healthy, happy and do not want anyone to take advantage of them."

Cassandra, a supporter from Minnesota, is not alone.

We all want our loved ones to be healthy and happy. And that is why we do the work we do. Food & Water Watch envisions a world where all people have access to enough affordable, healthy, and wholesome food and clean water to meet their basic needs. But to make this happen we need the help of supporters like Cassandra, and supporters like you. Will you help jumpstart our work in 2012 by making a tax-deductible year-end donation today?

In order to continue our work to protect our essential resources, we need to raise $100,000 by the end of the year. Each gift we receive by December 31 will be matched dollar for dollar... up to $50,000. So that means that a contribution of $20 will become $40, and $100 becomes $200. Please take advantage of this special matching gift opportunity today by helping us reach our goal — and double the impact of your gift!

We're working toward a world where food is grown for people, not for profit, and where everyone has access to safe, clean public water. But as you know, we've got a long way to go. We need your support to take our work to the next level in 2012:

  • You have the right to know what you're eating, so we're fighting to require all genetically engineered foods to be labeled as such.
  • Fracking is a growing threat, and it's affecting more and more areas of the country. We'll work to pass national and state-level fracking bans to protect your water.
  • We will fight for a fair food system by making sure independent farmers, ranchers and fishermen can compete with big agribusiness, through the 2012 Farm Bill and other laws.
  • We'll continue to educate colleges and communities about the waste associated with bottled water, and keep Utah's drinking water as a public resource.

To accomplish all this, we need to reach our goal of raising $50,000 from our online supporters by the end of the year. If you can give $50, or more, we can reach this goal. Remember, with the generosity of one of our members, that $50,000 will double to $100,000.

Food & Water Watch takes no corporate or government money, so the help you provide is crucial. Make your tax-deductible gift today:
