Yume Burger
Japanese food trailer goes HAM
5th and Colorado St; Downtown; 512.348.8158

Japan's tradition of doing American better than Americans continues with Yume Burger: a set-to-launch food truck peddling an Eastern take on our most gluttonous staple, inspired by the Peached Tortilla guy's youth in Japan, which should definitely be the name of an even cooler NKOTB.

Every burger clocks in under six bucks, with all-beef numbers like The Original (American, tomato, jalapeno-onion relish, pink sauce), the Japajam (tomato jam, 'peno jack, fried egg, Japanese BBQ sauce, crispy onion strings), and the Po-Ku, with seared pork belly, creamy wasabi slaw, and Japanese pickles, and of course turning Japanese with your pickle is nothing new to you.

For Kobayashi acolytes they're bunning the all-beef Yume Dog (wasabi mayo, tonkatsu sauce, nori strips, crispy strings), while non-bovine offerings include the panko-encrusted, deep-fried Chicken Katsu (Asian slaw, tonkatsu sauce, those pickles), and the Oishii: Hops and Grain whitefish tempura, creamy wasabi slaw, picks, and Japanese tartar sauce, which you are no doubt familiar with from the aforementioned pickle scenario. Apologies.

They'll be doing regular late-night at 5th and Colorado starting Friday, and much like their Peached predecessor the truck will roam during lunchtime -- but no worries, you can use their Facebook to follow them Step by Step.

Find out where they'll be for lunch right here
