Good afternoon Andrew,
Precious metals led by a slumping Euro currency ended the trading day lower.....Traders did not get a good feeling as the European Leaders Summit left too many questions unanswered about resolving the Euro-zone recession.....The Euro is down 1.28 cents against the Dollar at $1.3200....Some traders also expressed nervousness in advance of this weekend's Russian Presidential election....Putin is expected to win, but the country remains deeply divided....As a result markets slumped.....Silver ended the day at $34.55 off $1.00 ........Gold fell $11.00 to $1710.00......Palladium shed $6.00 to $713.00....Platinum closed at $1694.00 down $9.00.....Volume remained moderate.....European worries coupled with today's surging Dollar sent Oil lower by $2.64 per barrel....Last trade $106.20.....Meanwhile; the Dow sits at 12,940 off 40 points, and still below that psychological 13,000 level....When we return on Monday traders will start the process of worrying about the new week's litany of economic data including the all important U.S. Non Farm Payroll Report and the Unemployment Rate.....That's about it....Have a good weekend....
