Acme F&B
Bestia est omnis divisa in partes tres!
4900 McKinney Ave; Uptown
Homecomings generally involve you getting secretly baked, and your college openly scheduling cupcakes. For a homecoming that actually involves food, hit Acme F&B, soft opening tomorrow.
Together with the Barcadia founders, the Good 2 Go Taco girls have created a tungsten-lit, brass-walled, speakeasy-reminiscent escape right off Central, specializing in the cuisine they started out in, "come as you are fine dining" -- which means you can wear blue jeans as long as you swear you don't have a gun. Farm-raised seasonal's the name of the game, and sourcing includes whole animals (pig, cow, lamb, etc.) that'll be split between here, G2G, and Goodfriend, plus seafood from "a Native American territory", fruits & veggies from a small foraging company in Washington, and, from the Santa Cruz farmer's market, baby veggies that'll stay babies forever, as they were bitten by Kiefer Sutherland. All this'll play out in apps like summer chilled green gazpacho & fried artichokes (w/ pickled green tomato salad & aioli), and entrees ranging from chicken & dumplings (just like mom used to make, except with rainbow chard gnocchi, and good) to braised rabbit (in three-onion risotto jus).
The dual bars will be pouring wine (122 different selections), liquor (all the classics, complete with housemade syrup), and 24 taps boasting locals like DEBC and Peticolas -- drink 'em all, and you'll certainly feel like you're on a float.
They're soft open tomorrow, so learn more, right here
