Gerry Weston
Dear Listener,

Being the last "unofficial" week of summer it's time to give a shout out to our trio of WICN summer interns. Chris Hanks has actually been with us since last December, helping with our newsletter and doing some terrific production work. Anna Secino and Sarah Bilotta joined us for the summer and have been a huge help with our social media, research and a host of other duties. I can speak for the entire staff when I say it's been a true pleasure to have these talented young people here on a regular basis! We wish them good luck as they move on and face important life choices.

On Labor Day we'll give afternoon host Jon Marable the day off and present a special live jazz concert: Jazz From Caramoor. It will air from 4-6pm and will feature legendary drummer Roy Haynes, pianist Kenny Barron and the exciting band The Cookers. The concert comes from the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Bedford, N.Y. A nice way to end the summer!
