Dear Indiana, We're only as powerful as the citizens standing with us against the abuse of our food and water by corporate special interests. We rely on you to take important actions when it counts. We'll keep fighting together in 2013, but we need your support before the end of the year to give us the resources we need.
Can you donate today so we have the resources to keep fighting back in 2013?
Your support has helped us win in 2012. We'll continue to call on you to take action on urgent issues next year, but we need secure funding in order to win the war over the long term. Can you make a year-end donation today?
One thing I love about Food & Water Watch is that we never waver in our stance. We take strong positions and back them up with on-the-ground action. Many nonprofits aren't able to do this, and I can tell you why: corporate funding.
Food & Water Watch has never and will never take money from corporations. We are entirely funded through our members, individual donors, and foundation grants. Why? Because not all funding is created equal. Just like corporate money buys politicians, nonprofits that accept corporate donations lose their ability to stand up for the real solutions we need. They're likely to give in to pressure from their corporate donors — like calling for regulations that will ultimately allow fracking, instead of fighting for the outright ban on fracking that we really need to protect our communities.
We wouldn't be able to remain an independent advocate for our essential resources without the support of individuals like you. Can you help us keep fighting corporate power by making a year-end donation today?
I can still remember the day, years ago, that we sat down as an organization to decide how to address the issue of fracking. After reviewing the research, we decided that we had no other choice but to call for a ban on this dirty process of extracting fossil fuels. Unlike other organizations who accept corporate funding, we didn't even have to consider what our tough stance would mean for us financially. And that is because we have some very generous individual donors like you. We even have a donor who has agreed to triple-match all year-end gifts! That means that your gift will be multiplied, as long as you donate by December 31st.
Please donate today so we can stay independent and continue fighting for our essential resources: http://act.foodandwaterwatch.org/site/Donation2?df_id=1700&1700.donation=root Thanks for your continued support,
