Facebook has expanded a test of voice-over-IP calling to the U.S., the company has confirmed. Facebook users can make free calls via Wi-Fi and cell networks from the Messenger application on iPhones. A survey of medical board directors showed that 81% of respondents agreed that presentation by doctors of misleading data about clinical outcomes online warrants investigation, while 79% said use of patient images without consent is worthy of investigation. There was less agreement about investigation of scenarios such as showing use of alcohol without intoxication (40%) and use of derogatory speech toward patients (46%). The findings, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, highlight the need for more education about social media use, researchers wrote.
