| Take Off For A Week
If you ever felt you needed to walk away from the stock market for a while to clear you head and relieve some of that investment-driven anxiety and tension, now is the perfect time. Starting Tuesday afternoon, volume, activity and general interest in the market will begin to wane. After all, Thursday is Independence Day and the market is only open for half the day Wednesday and many people will take off Friday as well.
Truth be told, from time to time, some bargains can be found on days like next Friday. Still, prior to that day, we suspect market watchers will begin to concern themselves with quarterly earnings, although volume should be lighter than normal.
Of course, this is a major departure from the monetary easing news-dominated market we have experienced over the past couple of weeks. You're probably still scratching your head wondering why the market has enjoyed two straight big up days following a 25% reduction in the final tally for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for 1Q13. One of those companies was Virtual Piggy, Inc. (OTCQB: VPIG - $2.40), which has nearly doubled since our profile in 2012. VPIG is the first e-commerce solution that enables kids to manage and spend money within a parent-controlled environment. Moreover, this platform also allows merchants to sell to them while complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
