Let's celebrate generosity Give a little love for the things we can't live without! Dear Indiana, Giving is a beautiful thing. I'm lucky to work at Food & Water Watch, because I see our supporters giving all the time. You give your time, your energy, your skills, and you give financially, too. Without all that amazing giving, we couldn't do what we do together: protect your food and water. For Giving Tuesday tomorrow, we're celebrating all the ways that our supporters and members give back to ensure that everyone has access to safe food and clean water... and we want you to be part of that. I hope you'll honor all that hard work and generosity with an act of giving of your own. When you donate today, your gift will be tripled. Will you give to protect your food and water for Giving Tuesday?
When you give, you'll be helping these incredible Food & Water Watch activists and volunteers (and many, many more who aren't pictured here) to keep fighting the good fight: The truth is, we need all kinds of giving to keep fighting the corporations that want to control the things we can't live without. To ban fracking, label genetically engineered foods, level the playing field for small farmers and so much more, we need activists on the ground, collecting petitions and educating their neighbors. We need concerned citizens showing up at rallies and meeting with their legislators to hold them accountable. And to support all that, we need materials, research and organizers in the field. This means we need a solid base of funding, and for that we rely on generous individuals like you.
I can't emphasize that enough: we rely on donations from people like you. We don't accept donations from corporations or the government at all. We're up against powerful corporations that grow bigger every year, and to keep up with them, we need to grow, too. We need to not only raise money from current members, but constantly expand our base of support. In fact, this is so important that we've set a special goal — before the year ends, we want 1,750 of our supporters to become donors for the first time to help support our growing work. Will you chip in $7 and be one of them?
We all give in different ways to support the issues we care about, from banning fracking across the country to guaranteeing our right to know what we're feeding our families. I'm touched and inspired by everyone who gives to support this critical work. The most valuable thing you can do right this minute is donate, so we can give back even more to help you, your family and your community. I hope we can count on your gift.
