Dear Friend,

You and I have worked hard all year taking action to end child hunger in our country. We've made so much progress on Child Nutrition Reauthorization and are getting close. Be on the lookout in the coming weeks for opportunities to join our big push. We are going to do everything we can to get this bill over the finish line, and we'll need your help!

In the meantime, while we gear up for the next step in the process, I wanted to take this opportunity to share another issue important to Feeding America—food waste. I'm looking for advocates like you who are willing to take a stand with us and raise their voices to stop food waste – and help us collect good food for hungry Americans.

We need help to push Congress to pass the America Gives More Act before the end of the year. This bill would make it easier for businesses, farmers, and ranchers to donate good wholesome excess foods to help feed hungry Americans and help us reduce food waste in this country. It's a rare win-win, and we need Congress to make it a priority.

Americans waste 70 billion pounds of food each year? But a single tax donation could prevent millions of pounds of good food from ending up in landfills – and being used to feed America's hungry families instead.
