10,000 Maniacs For Crying Out Loud One of the most critically acclaimed bands of the last three decades, 10,000 Maniacs were founded in the fall of 1981. Together with artists like R.E.M., Violent Femmes and Husker Du, they defined college rock and created what became known as the alternative rock format on FM radio. To help celebrate their 35th anniversary, 10,000 Maniacs are offering For Crying Out Loud a special compendium of songs to showcase some treasures of the last several years. For longtime fans, the album is made very special with the inclusion of "Go Song Go," an unreleased instrumental from a 1986 rehearsal recording found in the vault. The album is rounded out by two preview tracks from the band's Greatest Hits Live album, scheduled release later this spring. For Kilgannon, songwriting is so much more than just putting words to paper.
