What does Senator Jeff Sessions have to hide?
Tweet this action: Want to #StopSessions? Call (877) 959-6082 now and tell your senators to oppose @SenatorSessions
President-Elect Donald Trump has tapped U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions to be our next U.S. Attorney General. But shockingly, Sessions has refused to respond to key questions from the Senate Judiciary Committee about his past and his policy positions. What is Sessions trying to hide?

Take Action: Call (877) 959-6082 and tell your senators that Sessions' confirmation hearing must be delayed until he responds to all questions fairly and fully.

Well before his career in the U.S. Senate, Jeff Sessions had a legacy of using political posts to undermine civil rights. Much to Sessions' dismay, he cannot hide from his own record. Sessions now has a long, troubling record against civil and human rights that includes:
  • Calling the Voting Rights Act "intrusive" as it seeks to protect eligible minority voters.
  • Opposing the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act and the repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell," which would have further marginalized LGBT Americans.
  • Opposing the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 and the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act in 2013.
The Senate Judiciary Questionnaire submitted by Sen. Sessions as a prerequisite for his confirmation hearing to become U.S. Attorney General lacks hundreds of entries that should have been included. Until the omissions from the questionnaire are corrected, the Senate Judiciary Committee cannot carefully consider this critical nomination.

Sen. Sessions' record reflects deep hostility toward the protection of civil rights. And now, he's trying to hide his record as he seeks to become Attorney General. Call senators to ensure they have all of the information that they need to make the right choice and #StopSessions from becoming Attorney General.

Take Action: President-Elect Donald Trump has tapped U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions to be the next U.S. Attorney General. Urge senators to demand that Sen. Sessions respond fully to his questionnaire – a requirement to be the next U.S. Attorney General. #StopSessions and review the record – call your senators and tell them that the hearing must be delayed so that the full record is received and reviewed.
