Senior Corrections Advisor Now Accepting Applications     The U.S. Department of State is currently accepting applications for a Senior Corrections Advisor, located in Kabul, Afghanistan. The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) is under the Under Secretary for Democracy and Human Rights and works to keep Americans safe at home by countering international crime, illegal drugs, and instability abroad. INL helps countries deliver justice and fairness by strengthening their police, courts, and corrections systems. The purpose of this Personal Services Contract is to fill the position of Senior Corrections Advisor. The Advisor provides technical corrections expertise in a wide variety of settings, including internal U.S. embassy and multi-national meetings, to assist the Government of Afghanistan in reaching its stated goals and objectives in reforming the corrections/prisons system in Afghanistan. The Advisor offers assistance in a variety of areas, to include technical assistance, contingency planning and development, and identifying training and equipment needs. S/he also serves as a resource to the INL/Kabul Director, INL/AP corrections team, and the Afghan prison directorate (currently the Office of Prison Administration) on corrections issues providing expertise. This is a non-status, non-permanent Personal Services Contract position. You do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position.
