Lewis – just got some more details about the NDRC's 2022 Democracy Targets. Here's the criteria that A.G. Holder and the team used to choose our initial targets:

➞ Races that will be important to redistricting.
➞ Races where we can reelect fair maps champions.
➞ Races where we can hold Republicans accountable for gerrymandering.
➞ Races that are critical to defending democracy.

Okay, let's break it down.

➞ Races that will be important to redistricting. This is especially critical now that we know the GOP plans to use elections to jeopardize the independence of state supreme courts.

➞ Races where we can help reelect fair maps champions. We need to support officials who have fought against Republican gerrymanders, like the governors of Kansas and Wisconsin.

➞ Races where we can hold Republicans accountable for gerrymandering. Texas and Florida are two states where we can do this.

➞ Races that are critical to defending democracy. Trump's allies in the GOP are openly plotting to undermine democracy and even overturn election results. Winning key races in states like Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Arizona will be essential to stopping them!
