Media advisories with Zoom links/dial-in details will be emailed in advance. 18-22 July Second meeting of the Intergovernmental In December 2021, at its second-ever special session, the World Health Assembly established an Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) to draft and negotiate a convention, agreement or other international instrument under the WHO Constitution to strengthen pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, with a view to adoption under Article 19, or under other provisions of the WHO Constitution as may be deemed appropriate by the INB. The INB will work based on the principles of inclusiveness, transparency, efficiency, Member State leadership and consensus. The INB's second meeting takes place Monday-Friday next week and will be webcast live here. The provisional agenda and other documents are also available here. Wednesday, 20 July Next Wednesday, WHO will launch the World Report on the health of refugees and migrants, the first WHO report providing a global snapshot of the health status of refugees and migrants. The report brings together key evidence about the multitude of health challenges faced by refugees and migrants along their journeys, as a result of a comprehensive review of national, regional, and global literature. It presents significant information about trends, gaps, and practices in protecting and promoting the health of these populations and outlines current and future opportunities and challenges. WHO will launch the report next Wednesday at a virtual press conference from 15:00-16:00 CEST. A media advisory and more information will be available next week. Thursday, 21 July Second IHR Emergency Committee regarding The WHO Director-General will convene the second meeting of the International Health Regulations (2005) Emergency Committee (EC) regarding the multi-country monkeypox outbreak next Thursday from 12:00 pm CEST. The meeting will only be open to members and advisors of the Emergency Committee. The Emergency Committee is expected to issue a statement in the days following the meeting. The statement will be shared with the media when posted on the WHO website, together with links to photo and video material from the meeting. Friday, 22 July Launch of the first Ebola therapeutics guidelines WHO will publish the first guideline for Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) therapeutics next Friday. This guideline incorporates the latest high-quality evidence and provides new recommendations on specific drugs to treat patients with EVD. It aims at supporting health care providers caring for patients with EVD and policy-makers involved in outbreak preparedness and response and was developed according to WHO standards and methods for trustworthy guidelines.
