If anti-democracy candidates like Doug Mastriano (PA), Kari Lake (AZ), and others had been in power in 2020, it's very possible that Donald Trump would have succeeded in overturning the election and remaining in power. But it's not just anti-democracy governors who pose a threat in 2024 — gerrymandered legislatures could try to overturn legitimate election results, too:
