| Dear , I spoke on the House Floor and condemned the recent attacks on pro-life facilities, groups, and churches. Pro-life pregnancy centers play a critical role in supporting and assisting pregnant women and their children and families.
There have been nearly 100 reported acts of violence and intimidation against pro-life individuals and organizations by radical, pro-abortion activists since the initial leak of the draft Supreme Court Dobbs opinion. I am honored to serve as the head of the top Financial Services subcommittee on Capital Markets. As Chair of this critical subcommittee overseeing all matters relating to capital formation, I am ready to implement an agenda that strengthens our public markets, protects small businesses and entrepreneurs, and helps build investment opportunities for all Americans. I will also rein in the harmful rulemakings by President Biden’s agencies and increase oversight so Main Street investors are no longer burdened by this Administration’s reckless decisions. Once again, I am grateful to serve as one of the top Republicans on the Foreign Affairs Committee. I will work closely with my colleagues to combat global threats from nations like Russia, China, and Iran, and strengthen U.S. leadership during a time of instability worldwide. Human rights continue to be eroded around the world, and we will join with partners and allies to challenge the dictators who persecute innocent populations.
I am proud the House passed my Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. All life is sacred, and Congress has finally taken action to provide vital protections for innocent children at one of their most vulnerable moments.
My colleagues and I in the Abraham Accords Caucus urged the State Department to promote interfaith dialogue within member countries of the Abraham Accords: Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, and the United States. These important talks will help foster increased trust and respect between nations and build on the momentum we have already achieved in the Middle East, as well as promote stronger religious freedom globally. Last week, I introduced legislation to fight human trafficking by improving methods to identify potential victims and assist law enforcement personnel in this critical fight. Combatting human trafficking in the United States requires a whole-of-government approach. This problem is getting worse, and as it evolves, government employees must be kept up to date on the trends we are seeing in the fight against trafficking and made aware of the best ways to alert law enforcement. I applaud Congressman Walberg’s steadfast leadership on this legislation and look forward to its consideration in the House.
