Across the U.S., Muslim students and their families are asked to choose between school and Eid, Indiana. Here’s how we change that.

#EidForAll.

MPower Change

As salaamu alaykum, Indiana—

We're just a few weeks from the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

Muslim families throughout the U.S. will reconnect with their faith, communities, and each other.

But when the end of Ramadan arrives, many families will have to make a difficult choice about how they mark Eid.

Because Eid is not a school holiday at most U.S. schools.

That's why we're launching #EidForAll — and want you to join us. Come hear about successful and ongoing efforts to make Eid a school holiday.

RSVP now for our March 9, 6pm ET interest meeting.

We'll hear from students and community leaders who have successfully organized their school districts to recognize Eid, and we'll share tools and strategies on how you can too.

Because no student or family should have to make the choice between school or Eid, Indiana.

Muslim students celebrating Eid at a place of worship are often forced to miss a whole day of school in the U.S. As a result, many students don't take this day off to avoid the toll of missing class time, exams, or homework.

It's not inclusive, it's not fair, and it's not right.

But, together, we can change that.

Students and families from all faiths understand that including Muslim students in the school calendar is simply the right thing to do.

Change is already happening: families, students and community members are currently building momentum in their school districts, and we'll help connect you to efforts near you.

Muslim students and their families should be able to celebrate Eid proudly without worrying about falling behind in school.

Let's make sure they can.

Please: Join us on March 9 and RSVP now.

Thank you so much for everything you do.

In solidarity,

Ishraq, Sinthia, Abdullah, and the MPower Change team
