| π¨ The death toll from the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that rocked Turkey and Syria exceeds 21,000 people, according to officials. As the desperate search for survivors continues, 121 Turkish citizens were pulled from the rubble alive after being trapped since Monday. The United States Agency for International Development is providing $85 million in "urgent humanitarian assistance" to help the earthquake victims. π£️ Former Vice President Mike Pence has been subpoenaed by the special counsel overseeing probes into former President Donald Trump. Sources told ABC News that the subpoena requests documents and testimony related to the failed attempt by Trump and his allies to overturn the 2020 election, which culminated in the deadly Jan. 6 attack. The subpoena follows months of negotiations between federal prosecutors and Pence's legal team. π️ A federal judge on Thursday sentenced a Jan. 6 rioter who carried a Confederate flag and was among the first people to breach the U.S. Capitol building to three years in prison. Kevin Seefried was the first to confront Capitol Police officer Eugene Goodman, who recalled Seefried threatening him and jabbing at him with his flagpole. Seefried's son, Hunter, is currently serving a two-year sentence for storming the Capitol with his father. ⚖️ The parents and sister of Halyna Hutchins, the cinematographer killed in the "Rust" on-set shooting, have filed a new lawsuit against Alec Baldwin and the film's producers, according to the family's attorney. The lawsuit alleges negligence, battery, intentional affliction of emotional distress and loss of consortium, the family's attorney, Gloria Allred, said. ✨ Rihanna's highly anticipated Super Bowl performance is almost here. The singer said she's "honored" to represent her home country of Barbados and "Black women everywhere" with the show, and that it came at the perfect moment in her career and as a new mom.
