The Bost Bulletin Dear Friend, This past week, I wrapped up my Southeastern Illinois Listening Tour – 18 stops and shaking hundreds of hands along the way. It was a great time, and I learned a lot from my new constituents. Congressional redistricting can pose a challenge when your district doubles in size, but I made it my priority to use the first constituent work weeks of the new Congress hopping in my truck and visiting as many of my new counties as possible. Here’s a rundown of the closing stops of my tour, and I’ll be back again soon! Hearing from Wayne County Job Creators This past week, I met with the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce in Fairfield. We had a great variety of folks — everything from firearms dealers, engineers, and other small businesses. We had a chance to discuss the disastrous policies coming out of the Biden administration and my work to fight for our Southern Illinois job creators in Congress. Mike meets with the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce Touring Hamilton County Small Businesses Our Southern Illinois small businesses are the engine of our local economies. They employ our friends and neighbors and provide us with the goods and services we need. I had the chance to tour several of our Hamilton County job creators on Thursday. First, I stopped at Deep South, where I had a chance to meet with Adam Little. Not only is he the owner, but he is also a fellow Marine and a VFW Commander. Mike meets with Alan Teffertiller of Teffertiller Motors Our last stop was STC, Inc., where I met with Brad Cross. The custom electronic transformers manufactured by STC here in Hamilton County are used in everything ranging from aviation and aerospace, defense, medical, and the broadcast communications industries. Brad Cross gives Mike a tour of STC, Inc. Supporting Our Veterans I had a great meeting with Maurice Bridges, Rod Thompson, Bobby Edwards, and Joe Bartley from the VFW Department of Illinois in my O’Fallon office on Wednesday. We discussed my work as chairman of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee as well as ways we can work together to support our nation’s veterans. Mike meets with representatives from the VFW Department of Illinois Speaking with the Next Generation of Leaders It's always fun to speak with the next generation of Southern Illinois leaders -- our children. I met with Mascoutah High School Air Force JROTC cadets this past week to talk about my path from the Marine Corps to Congress. They also had a lot of great questions on issues like national security, the border, and inflation. Mike speaks to Air Force JROTC cadets at Mascoutah High School To stay updated on the work I am doing, make sure you follow me on or .
