This is really part two of my question to you a few weeks back when I asked, ‘Should we do some in-person events?’ And you all answered: yes. So - to celebrate the launch of the print edition, I’m doing a very low-key tour! A few more places are in discussion or firming up, but so far* we’ve got ten cities with wildly different events planned. I’m going to some of my favorite bookstores, I’m going to very cool libraries, and there might be one near you! If you’re around, I’d love to meet you in person. I set up a new page on draculadaily.com to list out the events. I’ll keep that up to date with changes. The big launch party is coming up first: 9/19 - Lawrence Public Library has picked Bram Stoker’s Dracula as its big Community Read book for the fall. They’re throwing a launch party, in conjunction with support from local darling The Raven Book Store (where you can preorder signed copies) and The Lawrence Arts Center (which is just generally great). I’ll do a talk covering the life of the newsletter and the incredible community response, and some other Dracula-themed kookiness is threatened… Registration is required and their signup page is live now. And then after that a string of fun:
More details and links to those events are up at draculadaily.com/events. That’ll be the best place for up-to-date info, but I’ll try to throw special updates in the footer of the regular emails. I like to be unobtrusive in the regular emails… but on the other hand I really want you to know about this stuff. So if you can, spread the word please, I’d love to meet you IRL! Thanks - * Hi bookstores/libraries: did we have an email chain about an event and then it kind of fell apart? It’s me, hi, I’m the problem. Feel free to nag me and I’ll try to do better responding. This email is part of Dracula Daily, an in-real-time delivery of the classic novel Dracula. You can see more details, read past issues, and more at DraculaDaily.com. And if you’ve had enough, you can always unsubscribe below. We’re making a printed book edition, too! You can see details and find pre-order links at DraculaDaily.com. Or you can sign up for news and updates about it at StudioKirkland.substack.com. |
This site is an experiment in sharing news and content. Almost everything here came from email newsletters.
