| ⛈️ Thousands were without power, trees were downed, road were closed and threats of flash flooding remained as Tropical Storm Hilary continues to move across Southern California. Tropical storm warnings are in effect for more than 42 million people in Southern California, and the once-Category 4 hurricane has led to flood watches in Arizona, Oregon and Idaho. 🚨 As the Southland battles heavy rain and continues preparations for the heart of the storm to make its way up through California, there was a 5.1 earthquake, per the U.S. Geological Society. The earthquake was centered near Ojai, and was followed by several smaller aftershocks. 🔥 Ahead of President Joe Biden and the first lady's visit to Maui on Monday, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell told "This Week" details of the trip are still being "developed." Three more people have been confirmed dead in the Maui wildfires, increasing the total number of confirmed fatalities to 114 with 850 still missing. Searches have been performed on 85% of the impacted areas in Maui, Gov. Josh Green said on Sunday. ⏪ An Ohio-based company is voluntarily recalling over 100,000 of its products for young kids due to the potential for injuries, including head injuries. The Simplay3 Company has received over a dozen reports of its Toddler Tower product "tipping over while in use," according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The company also had 10 reports of injuries due to falls, including six head contusions, the CPSC said in a recall notice Thursday. 🐶 A 9-month-old puppy that was lost in the Maui wildfires was reunited with its family after help from a good Samaritan. | |
