It's hard to be Catholic right now.
If we're being honest, for one reason or another each of us is going through a spiritual Calvary. For some it's driven by what the Vatican is saying, for others it's what the Vatican isn't saying.
Some are heartbroken because they worry the Church keeps spreading confusion while calling it 'pastoral.' Others are heartbroken because they feel mercy is being thrown out in favor of cold justice. All of us are in some way grappling with a Church that has a particular concupiscence toward favoring the institution over the heart of Her mission - the salvific love of Jesus Christ. In short, across the theological and political divide, we are entering Lent with heavy hearts.
But, this is good news!
While it's easy to fall into despair, we are being given the opportunity to open our eyes and see Jesus. And, this Lent each of us has a personal opportunity to suffer alongside Him. Don't let this Lent pass you by. If the above describes just a small amount of where you are at in your spiritual life… pray. Pray for our Church. It will console Jesus' heart and you will receive grace.
To help, we have two phenomenal devotionals to guide you. The brand new forty-day meditation on the fourteen Stations of the Cross, designed for use in your home, presents the cross in slow motion. Daily Scripture passages, prayers, and insights from the saints and Church fathers will help you pause, ponder, and contemplate each step of the way as you walk with Jesus on the road to Calvary. You might just find that while you can help carry the cross for Him, he is carrying your cross too.
In addition, we have a collection of Lenten homilies and reflections from the Spiritual Master and doctor of the Church - Saint Thomas Aquinas. There is no better instructor in our faith than the Church's greatest philosopher theologian to guide you through this holy season.
If you need healing this Lent, turn to Jesus and lean on what you can trust - the cross and the doctors of the faith. Both books are extremely popular, get yours today in time for Lent.
God bless you!
