Good morning. It's Monday, Feb. 12, and we're watching in fascination as this hot wing takes a journey through the human body. Now let's catch up from the weekend.

His message: That Russia could do "whatever the hell they want" to members of the NATO military alliance who he says do not spend enough on their own defense.
Why it matters: The comments, made Saturday at a rally, sparked concern among European leaders about what a second Trump term could mean for the alliance.
In related news: The Senate, with bipartisan support, advanced a bill yesterday to fund Ukraine in its war with Russia. But it faces opposition in the House.

What happened? Gaza's Health Ministry said at least 67 people were killed in the southern city of Rafah. Israel's military said it rescued two hostages during the operation.
The bigger picture: More than 1 million Palestinians have fled to Rafah to escape Israeli attacks. This weekend, President Biden urged Israel to protect civilians in the city.

How they did it: With Patrick Mahomes's game-ending touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman. The Chiefs beat San Francisco, 25-22, becoming the first back-to-back champs since 2005.
Other big moments: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's celebratory kiss, Usher's epic halftime show, Beyoncé's album announcement and some great (and not so great) commercials.

What happened? She entered Lakewood Church yesterday and fired several rounds before off-duty officers fired back. A 5-year-old child who was with her was injured.
The investigation: Police have not identified the woman or confirmed her motive or relationship to the child. The church is home to Joel Osteen's global ministry.

Who was he? A 24-year-old runner from Kenya on track to be the first person to run the marathon in under two hours. He nearly broke that barrier in October.
Yesterday: Kiptum was driving in Kenya when he veered off the road and hit a tree. Kenya's president called him "one of the world's finest sportsmen."

What to know: The store in Asheville took in eight tons of books, most of them banned under Florida laws limiting classroom discussion on race, gender and sexual orientation.
The twist ending: The store not only took in the rejected works, but is now sending them to anyone who requests them — and many are heading back to Florida.

Why? The Finnair program is part of an effort to improve airplane balance calculations. Passengers will step on the scales at Helsinki Airport with their carry-on luggage.
It's a trend: More airlines are using this strategy to ensure a plane's total weight is accurate. Finnair said its program, which began last week, is "voluntary and anonymous."
