April 12, 2024 Bulletins Pharmacy Program Reimbursement April 08, 2024 Applies to: Pharmacy Providers Effective date: April 1, 2024 Professional Dispensing Fee Due to the decrease in the Missouri Pharmacy Reimbursement Allowance (Pharmacy Tax), the adjustment to account for the Medicaid-reimbursed prescriptions will be decreased effective April 1, 2024. In-state pharmacy providers will continue to receive a professional dispensing fee of $12.22, plus an adjustment to account for the cost of the Missouri Pharmacy Reimbursement Allowance attributable to Medicaid-reimbursed prescriptions. The professional dispensing fee plus the current adjusted amount will total $12.41. Out-of-state pharmacy providers will continue to receive a professional dispensing fee of $8.85. Long-term care pharmacy providers supplying covered drugs to participants in long- term care facilities will continue to receive an additional $0.50 dispensing fee. Read more... Expanding Coverage of SDF Treatments for CDT Code D1354 Effective for dates of service on and after April 1, 2024, the MO HealthNet Division (MHD) Fee-For-Service Dental Program is expanding coverage for CDT code D1354 (application of caries arresting medicament - per tooth) for eligible participants ages 20 and under and participants in the categories for pregnant, blind and nursing facility residents, when medically necessary. MHD considers SDF medically necessary when the participant meets all of the following conditions: - Documented high caries-risk patient with anterior or posterior active cavitated lesions in primary or permanent teeth
- Presence of cavitated carious lesions in patients with well documented behavioral or medical management challenges
- Presence of carious lesions not able to be accessed and restored through conventional treatment
- Patient has no means to access regular routine care
- Presence of active cavitated carious lesions with no clinical signs of pulpal involvement
Clinical charting, treatment notes/operative notes, photographic images, and radiographic images documenting the conditions listed above as indications for use of SDF application must be maintained in the patient record.
