As salaamu alaykum, Indiana Jones—
Eid is usually a time of joy. Of gratitude.
Every year, we mark the end of Ramadan with charity and gift-giving. We celebrate with our family, friends, and neighbors. We remind ourselves and each other of all for which we must be thankful.
But this was not a typical Eid.
A dark cloud has hung over all of us this Ramadan and this Eid:
The horror and pain of Gaza.
Our Eid traditions of communal reflection, solidarity, and a recommitment to justice are more important than ever this year — even if joy is harder to find.
This Ramadan, we fought for our people in Gaza — and we will continue to fight until we have a permanent ceasefire, an end to the flow of arms to Israel, and a pathway for a free Palestine.
With your help, we've made powerful inroads with partners who are now listening to Palestinian voices. We've shifted the media narrative and the political landscape and are growing ever-stronger at a time when it is needed most.
We can't do any of this without your support.
Please recommit with us right now to keep up the fight.
We are thankful you have been part of the important work we do. Ramadan is a time for community, and each one of you is part of that community.
Please let us know that you will continue with us now in this dark time and throughout 2024.
We must act not despite the exceptionally dark nature of this moment, but because of it.
Thank you for everything you do, and Eid Mubarak.
In solidarity,
Linda and the team at MPower Change
