- Zooming out: Bolivia has had more than 100 coup attempts since its independence. While unsuccessful, yesterday's incident revealed the weakness of the current government.

| Turning water into fuel could slash emissions from planes, ships and trucks. | - How it works: Power plants feed water through machines that pull out its hydrogen atoms, which are then chemically transformed into diesel. We visualized the process here.
- The potential impact: These plants could help to cut 4% of global carbon emissions by 2050, experts say. But they'll need a lot of renewable energy to power them.
