What to know: Haniyeh, the head of Hamas's political wing, was attending the inauguration of Iran's new president, the group said. Follow live updates here. Why it matters: Haniyeh is the top Hamas official to be killed since the group attacked Israel Oct. 7. Hamas called it an assassination and blamed Israel, which hasn't commented. She challenged Donald Trump to debate her. The event came as she plans a tour of battleground states next week with her soon-to-be-named running mate.
