Do you need feedback on your jazz playing?

(2 days left to get 40% off the Learn Jazz Standards Inner Circle) Hey Indiana, When I was in college I had a friend named Steve.  Steve was a guitar player I was going to music school with, and we had a lot of the same goals.  We were both extremely interested in improving our jazz playing, and we both loved to practice. So we spent a lot of time together, and we both got to know each others playing really well. Something that was special about our relationship is we both felt very comfortable asking each other for feedback and advice. We might have a little jam together and every once and a while I'd ask Steve what he thought I could improve on, and he'd do the same.  We also would often share with each other what we were working on, and so many times I got great practice ideas from Steve that helped me out quite a bit.  Absolutely, feedback from my jazz teachers was really important, but I found having a musical peer to engage with like this had an enormous impact on my ability to improve.  I know this isn't really ground-breaking stuff.  We typically learn best when surrounded by other people who have common interests and goals.  Yet, I've noticed that so many musicians out there seem to go it alone and don't have others to ask for advice and help.  That's one reason why I love our community in our Learn Jazz Standards Inner Circle.
