In New York: Middle East tensions are looming over President Joe Biden's last big meeting at the United Nations this week. Biden has called for restraint — follow live updates here. He has shared false conspiracy theories, wavered on key policies and picked a fight with Taylor Swift. Increasingly, he's painting a picture of a frightening (and imaginary) world. Republicans and Democrats will have to work together in both chambers to beat a Sept. 30 shutdown deadline.
