Dr. Shelby Smith discusses some of the benefits of social activities, as well as the benefits of having a vocal conversation. | | "I'll tell our kids that our screen time is limited, but if you want to call them and talk like a human, you can do that for hours." | | On the morning of October 11th, Watkins Elementary in Springfield did a listening exercise. Students and parents practiced active listening by carefully following instructions on how to draw a shape, without being able to see it. This exercise often led to loads of laughter! | | Meanwhile, the same morning saw Willard North Elementary have a fun breakfast of their own. Thank you to all the parents and students who participated!
Strong Schools continues to make an impact on both kids and parents alike. | | Mark your calendars! Good Dads training camp is just around the corner. Twice a year Good Dads brings together people interested in promoting responsible fatherhood and father engagement for a training and networking event. If you’ve been wanting to learn how to lead a Good Dads class, this event is for you! | | We're excited to celebrate these dads of Southwest Missouri for completing the New Pathways program and starting a new chapter in their lives. | | FUNDRAISING DINNER: WE HAD A BLAST! | | October 17th's fundraising dinner was a big success! The theme was Good Dads Great Communities. The night featured a trivia game, live music, food and a ceremony celebrating Good Dads' accomplishments and our Outstanding Dads of the Year.
Thank you to all who attended and volunteered their time to make this event possible! | | We have to pat ourselves on the back for a spectacular quarter in the New Pathways for Good Dads program! From July through September, dad participants had excellent class participation, enrolled in the program in great numbers, and contributed to their child support cases. We even started 12 new classes this quarter! It's amazing what we can achieve when we work together! 🤝
