GROWING GOOD DADS

Home for the Holidays:

How to Avoid Conflict Between Parents

and Young Adults

With the holiday season quickly approaching, now is a good time to discuss expectations for any upcoming family gatherings.

Children who have become young adults, and left home for a variety of reasons (college, new job, military, etc.), are coming back, often for an extended visit. Many things have changed in the life of the young adult as well as in the lives of family members still at home.

Conflicts may arise, but we here at Good Dads are here to help!

Preparing for a move to college is just as important as preparing for a holiday visit or moving back for the summer. "

Carving Up the Turkey

Avoiding Conflict During the Holidays

Join us this week for a podcast from the Good Dads archive! Dr. Jennifer Baker and J. Fotsch discuss avoiding conflict around the holidays and trying to make it work with family.

Dr. Jennifer Baker provides strategies for "carving up the turkey without carving up the family."

"Don't completely cut people out if possible, but put some limits on when you get there and how long you're going to stay."

STRONG SCHOOLS: WONDERFUL WILLARD EAST

Thanks to Willard East leaders, parents, and students for having us Wednesday morning! It was great to see around 90 attendees participate in a fun activity, which is all about collaboration and teamwork.

Good Dads continues to make a difference in the lives of both fathers and their children.

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA

Many dads in our program are veterans or active in military service. For this reason, we wanted to highlight an organization that seeks to honor those who serve and remember those who have fallen.

Wreaths Across America is possible through the help of volunteers, active organizations, and the generosity of the transportation industry, which offer invaluable support to the mission.

The answer is 40%! The most common degrees pursued are business and health related, but it's important to remember that you don't need a college degree to be successful in life. Everybody goes at their own pace.
