A busy day for the Treasury. The monthly figures on wages and unemployment will be issued at 7am, before the Commons sits at 11.30am for questions to Treasury ministers. Rachel Reeves, the chancellor, will head to the World Economic Forum in Davos. Darren Jones, the chief Treasury secretary, will address the Institute for Government's annual conference at 5.10pm.
Keir Starmer will chair the cabinet's weekly session. MPs will also discuss the Armed Forces Commissioner Bill and a motion on environmental protection.
Peter Kyle, the science secretary, will announce a "digital centre of government" to improve public services.
The home affairs select committee will hear from Alexis Jay, who headed the inquiry into child sexual abuse, at 10am. Alex Younger, the former head of MI6, will give evidence to the defence committee at 10.30am. The business committee, which is looking at trade, growth and Donald Trump's possible tariffs, will hear from trade minister Douglas Alexander and EU relations minister Nick Thomas-Symonds at 2.30pm.
Ed Miliband, the energy secretary, will be questioned by the Lords environment and science committees at 3.30pm.
Kate Bingham, former chair of the vaccine taskforce, will appear at the Covid inquiry at 10am.
