Find your star!

Over 2,000 years ago, three (or more) important figures from distant lands traveled to meet a small child sheltering in a stable. Nothing about their journey made sense, aside from a brilliant star that led the way.

The star was a sign, in each of their traditions, of a mighty king – greater than all other kings. Yet, they could not find the child in palaces and no one else seemed to know about him. The closer they got to Jesus, the more confusing their path must seem. They travelled past castles, through poor neighborhoods, until they came to a stable. Here the star stopped – a clear sign that they had reached their destination.

Like the kings, our paths in life don't always make sense. We assume God would want one thing but then find ourselves called in different directions. Without a star, it is easy to get lost and confused. Fortunately, we have several "stars" ready to lead the way to Jesus!

The saints are like stars for us today. Their lives point to the humble comings of Christ and they stand ready to lend their prayers and guidance to help us find our own way to him.
