| ⚖️ President Donald Trump's sweeping pardon on Inauguration Day of those convicted in connection with the Jan. 6 Capitol riot led to the release from prison Tuesday of Enrique Tarrio, the former head of the Proud Boys, and Stewart Rhodes, the head of the Oath Keepers. They were serving 22- and 18-year sentences, respectively, for their roles in the riot. ❄️ Residents in states from Louisiana to Texas and South Carolina are experiencing something they are not entirely used to: Snow. A historic, unprecedented snowstorm slamming the South has led to impassable roads in some areas, closed airports and over 2,000 canceled flights. 🔥 Across the country, in California, two wildfires ignited Tuesday in San Diego, sparking new concerns and at least one evacuation order. 📵 New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Tuesday a proposal to ban smartphones from hallways, classrooms and during lunchtime in the state's public schools. "We are not developing the skills we need because kids are distracted by cellphones," Hochul said about the proposal, which will require approval by the state Legislature. 🚨 Prince Harry settled his lawsuit against News Group Newspapers, the Rupert Murdoch-owned company that publishes The Sun and previously published now-defunct News of The World. The settlement, announced this morning, includes an apology and admission of wrongdoing from NGN.
