The Bost Bulletin Dear Friend, Let me begin this weekend’s newsletter by offering my prayers to the families of the victims of the aircraft collusion outside Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. The NTSB, the Trump administration, and Congress are moving swiftly to learn how this unspeakable tragedy could have occurred. I am very familiar with the airport and its flight path, as Reagan National is the airport I commute to each week of congressional session. We’ll get answers, provide certainty to the victims’ families, and work to ensure protections are put in place to stop such an accident from occurring again. Meeting with President Trump on This Year's Agenda I spent last week attending the annual House Republican Issues Conference hosted at the Trump National Doral in Florida, where my colleagues and I sat down with President Trump to chart the course for a commonsense but ambitious agenda for 2025. You’ve already seen so much change take effect in just the few short days since President Trump took office, with more to come. Together in partnership with President Trump, Congressional Conservatives will continue to hit the ground running so we can bring back fiscal sanity to Washington, restore our nation’s borders and national security, and put a stop to the Far-Left policies Biden left behind that were crippling our nation. Making Our Streets Safer President Trump is fulfilling his promise to the American people to clean up the illegal immigration mess in this country. We’ve seen it firsthand here in Illinois. It was great to see that Border Czar Tom Homan traveled to Chicago last weekend to personally oversee the detention of undocumented criminals in the city. The days of chaos and disorder at the border are over. Restoring Accountability to the USPS When your mail delivery is delayed, you shouldn’t be on the hook for costly late fees. That’s why I cosponsored and support the PONY Up Act. The bill will allow Americans hit with late fees due to delivery delays to seek reimbursement from the Postal Service for those charges. I’ve heard from constituents in nearly each of our 34 counties about postal delays. There’s an incredible frustration out there, and we must work to restore accountability now. Standing up for Life The Geneva Consensus Declaration, spearheaded during the first Trump administration, reaffirmed life and rejected abortion on demand. When Joe Biden took office, he withdrew the U.S. from this union of 30 pro-life nations. I’m happy to say that President Trump has issued an executive order to rejoin and put America back on the side of protecting life. Providing an Update on Little Grassy Lake I’ve been in consistent contact with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regarding my concerns about the drainage of Little Grassy Lake. FWS promised improved communication and transparency on their process, and I received their formal response last week to my questions about why the lake needed to be fully drained in the first place. I have requested an in person site visit with the FWS personnel to see conditions firsthand. That will be taking place in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for additional information. Recognizing Holocaust Remembrance Day Last week we recognized International Holocaust Remembrance Day, and honored the six million Jews and countless others who were killed at the hands of an unimaginable evil. As we reflect, we remember their stories and pledge to never let such an inhumane tragedy happen again. To stay updated on the work I am doing, make sure you follow me on Facebook or .
