What's changing?
Hey, |
Google just announced a major change that every home service business needs to prepare for. |
Starting in August, Local Service Ads will begin moving into the main Google Ads platform. The standalone LSA dashboard where you manage leads, dispute bad calls and control your budget is going away. |
Service Scalers is already preparing its home service clients for the transition. Their team created a migration checklist as soon as Google announced the change and is working through every account before the first wave begins. |
Every LSA advertiser will eventually be moved, and some important things are changing: |
Weekly budgets will become daily budgets
Manual bidding will be replaced by automated Target CPA bidding
Lead management and disputes will move into Google Ads
Historical performance reports will not transfer automatically
|
That last point is especially urgent. Once your account migrates, your old performance reports could be gone permanently if you haven’t exported them. |
But this isn’t the only major shift happening in search. |
Homeowners aren’t searching the way they used to. Instead of scrolling through 10 websites, they’re asking AI questions like: |
“Who should I call for an emergency plumber?” “Who’s the best plumbing company near me?” “Which plumber has the best reputation?” |
The companies AI recommends aren’t random. AI recommends the businesses it actually understands. |
That understanding comes from the same things that have always mattered: |
|
|
Between the LSA migration and the rise of AI search, waiting to strengthen your digital presence is becoming a much bigger risk. |
Service Scalers manages LSA campaigns, builds high-converting websites and creates SEO strategies that make businesses easier for homeowners, Google and AI to understand. |
One plumbing client recently saw: |
Conversion rate increase from 1.2% to 4.8%
3.4x more booked calls in the first 30 days
Mobile performance score jump from 38 to 97
A brand-new website launched in 72 hours
|
The LSA migration starts in August, so now is the time to make sure your account, website and SEO strategy are ready. |
