Secretary of Defense Donald R. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Navy Rear Adm. Nancy E. Brown has been nominated for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as director of Command, Control, Communications, and Computer (C4) Systems, J-6, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, DC. Brown is currently serving as director for Command Control Systems, J-6, Headquarters North American Aerospace Defense Command/director, Architectures and Integration, J-6, U.S. Northern Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
Navy Reserve Rear Adm. (lower half) Jon W. Bayless Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral while serving as deputy commander, Navy Region Midwest, Great Lakes, Ill.
Navy Reserve Rear Adm. (lower half) Ann D. Gilbride has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral while serving as deputy director of Naval Intelligence for Reserve Affairs, N2R, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
Navy Reserve Rear Adm. (lower half) Edward Masso has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral while serving as deputy commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego, Calif.
Navy Reserve Rear Adm. (lower half) William H. Payne has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral while serving as deputy director, Plans and Policy, J5B, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.
