[:] The New Currency: About the New $10 Notes

The other day, after paying for some merchandise in a local store, I received a very strange looking $10 bill. I'm aware that the U.S. government is issuing new money but this looked very suspicious. I mean it was a very bad attempt to forge money. Well, it turns out that it wasn't forged. It was one of the new $10 bill issued by the government on March 2, 2206. This Web site, from the Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, covers information about the new $10 bills, such as security features (i.e., color-shifting ink and a watermark), and design features (i.e., symbols of freedom, larger numbers for those with low vision, and the note's "subtle shades of orange, yellow and red"). The site also offers links to material about other bills.

[:] Coaster

The term coaster is often to used to describe an optical disk that was ruined while trying to burn, or write to it (often caused by buffer underruns). However, it's also used to refer to any malfunctioning, unwanted or defective optical disk (CD or DVD media). The phrase is one which really caught on, and today you can find a plethora of CD and DVD burning guides which offer "coaster-free burning tips", designed to help consumers create a working disk on the first try. Adding to the terms popularity are Web sites that provide tips and tricks on "decorating and customizing" your CD coasters.
